How to delete your account

1. Sign in below using the same Google account you connected to Cinema Hound.
2. Check the account shown, select the confirmation checkbox, and press “Delete account and cloud data”.
3. Wait for the deletion confirmation. Verified self-service requests are processed immediately.

This works without installing the Android app. In the app, open Settings → Google account & cloud sync → Delete account and data.

What is deleted

Your Cinema Hound Google account identifier and display name, cloud Saved, Seen, thumbs up/down and Trash lists, website preferences, and account-linked visit, event and account-timing records are removed from the active service. Existing Cinema Hound account sessions and Android sync credentials stop working. This does not delete your Google account.

Copies stored on your devices or in backups you exported are separate. On Android, use Settings → Clear lists and settings on this phone to remove the local lists, search and appearance settings and sync connection. Guest browser lists can be removed by clearing Cinema Hound site data in your browser. Reconnecting Google later creates a new Cinema Hound account and may upload any lists still on that device.

Data retained and retention periods

Encrypted recovery backups retain up to 30 daily, 8 weekly and 12 monthly recovery points. Deleted data can remain in these restricted backups for up to 13 months and is excluded if a backup is restored to service. A restricted deletion record containing the former internal account number, a keyed hash of the Google identifier and the deletion date is retained for 13 months to enforce deletion during recovery; it contains no movie lists, name or email.

Unlinked catalogue-update measurements and raw website analytics expire after 90 days. Aggregate statistics that do not identify your account may remain. Technical security logs and support correspondence may be kept for security, handling requests or legal obligations, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Cannot sign in, or need help?

You can request account and associated data deletion using our deletion request contact form. Choose “Commercial query”, put “Delete my Cinema Hound account” in the message, and provide the Google email address used with Cinema Hound. Do not send passwords. We will verify account ownership before deletion and aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
