Full plot (contains spoilers)
Petra Winter is a senior teacher known for her strictness, especially toward the students and teachers at Berlin’s Fröbel Gymnasium. Even the friendly caretaker, Christian Brenner, suffers under her. Decency and discipline are everything to her. Because of a spiteful scheme by her colleagues, Petra has to fill in for the sports teacher, take charge of the not particularly successful soccer team, and train them for a very important match. But what nobody knows except her mother, Elisabeth, is that Petra secretly has a passion for soccer. The caretaker, who has his eye on the teacher, gives her plenty of help in training the team for the important match. An unfamiliar and exhausting road lies ahead of her. Little by little, Petra begins to thaw, smile, and even have fun. Apparently, step by step, she grows closer to her students and to the caretaker, and realizes that friendship is more important than discipline.
