An ex-cop and his reluctant partner must navigate a dangerous underworld of illegal racing and high-stakes smuggling in Miami.

The story

Ex-LAPD officer Brian O'Conner is in hiding in Miami after a previous operation in Los Angeles. He makes a living through street racing and is eventually offered a deal by his former superiors: he can clear his criminal record if he goes undercover to help take down a dangerous drug lord, Carter Verone. Brian accepts the deal but insists on choosing his own partner, selecting his estranged childhood friend, Roman Pearce. Together, they must navigate the treacherous world of Miami's underground racing scene while working with an undercover agent to infiltrate Verone's operations and bring him down.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After being caught and offered a deal to clear his record, Brian O'Conner teams up with his friend Roman Pearce to infiltrate the operations of drug lord Carter Verone. They are assisted by undercover agent Monica Fuentes, who provides them with vehicles for a series of tasks. After a series of tests and a high-stakes transport of 'dirty money' to the Florida Keys, the duo faces a massive police pursuit. They eventually outmaneuver the authorities and reach a marina where they confront Verone. Despite Verone's attempts to double-cross them, Brian and Roman successfully neutralize his forces. The mission is a success, their records are cleared, and they decide to stay in Miami to open a garage together, funded by a portion of the cash they kept for themselves.
