The story centers on Martha Hoffman, an eccentric, wealthy 83-year-old woman who is unexpectedly committed to a psychiatric clinic by her two daughters on the grounds that she is supposedly suffering from dementia. Judicial expert Leandro Casares then becomes involved. He must investigate and determine whether the daughters are deliberately trying to seize their mother’s fortune, whether Martha truly has dementia, or whether she is capable of living out her final years independently and freely.
