A newspaper columnist must navigate the challenges of a rehabilitation center after a drunken night ruins her sister's wedding.

The story

Gwen Cummings, a newspaper columnist struggling with alcoholism, arrives at her sister Lily's wedding in a drunken state, where she causes a scene and crashes a limousine. Faced with the choice of jail time or 28 days in a rehabilitation center, Gwen chooses the latter. Upon entering the facility, she meets a diverse group of patients and is assigned a teenage roommate. Angry and resistant, Gwen initially refuses to participate in treatment or admit her addiction, while struggling with painful memories of her mother's overdose.

Gwen Cummings, an alcoholic, enters a rehab center after crashing a limousine at her sister Lily's wedding. She is initially resistant to treatment, struggling with flashbacks of her mother's overdose. During visiting day, her boyfriend Jasper smuggles her painkillers, leading to a day of drinking. After Gwen falls from a window while trying to retrieve the pills and is rescued by Eddie, a famous baseball player, she finally agrees to participate in recovery. She begins to bond with her roommates, including a 17-year-old heroin addict named Andrea. Despite Jasper's attempts to undermine her sobriety, Gwen eventually reconciles with Lily and prepares a farewell skit for the group. However, after discovering Andrea has died from an overdose and Jasper causes a confrontation with Eddie, Gwen chooses to leave the facility. She eventually breaks up with Jasper, realizing he won't support her recovery, and finds a new sense of independence.
