The story
After a meeting between the Torricelli Sicilian Mafia crime family and black market dealers, Massimo Torricelli witnesses a woman named Laura Biel on a beach. Five years later, while celebrating her birthday in Italy with her boyfriend, Laura is kidnapped by Massimo. He reveals his history and explains that he has stalked her for years. He keeps her as a prisoner for 365 days, claiming he wants her to fall in love with him. He promises not to touch her without consent, though he remains physically and sexually aggressive. The story follows their tense dynamic as they navigate his demands and her resistance within his villa.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following his kidnapping of Laura, Massimo keeps her in his villa for a year. During their time together, they experience a series of intense encounters, including a scene where Massimo cuffs her to a bed and a subsequent confrontation at a club where she flirts with a rival. After a tense moment on a yacht where she falls into the water and is rescued by him, Laura admits she has fallen in love with him. They attend a masquerade ball and eventually, Massimo sends her back to Warsaw. While waiting for him, she reconnects with her friend Olga and encounters her ex-boyfriend Martin. Massimo eventually arrives, and they reconcile. They become engaged, and she reveals she is pregnant. The film ends with a sense of impending danger as a rival mafia family prepares to attack her, leaving Massimo in a state of distress upon hearing of the threat.
