Full plot (contains spoilers)
Alba and Pietro are a retired couple who used to run a restaurant and have settled in a villa on an island. To celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, they organize a lunch and invite their children, grandchildren, and other relatives. After the celebrations, however, no one can leave the island because ferry services have been suspended due to bad weather. Their forced stay together gradually gives way to an outburst of repressed feelings, unresolved pain, mutual envy, barely concealed betrayals, and heightened jealousy. Amid desperate pleas for help (Riccardo, whose wife is pregnant, asks his cousins in vain if he can return to work at the family restaurant to deal with his financial problems) and the search for emotions long forgotten (between Paolo, who is separated and travels the world, and Isabella, whose marriage is in crisis), the situation comes close to becoming a family tragedy when Carlo is on the verge of throwing his second wife, Ginevra, off a cliff at the height of yet another argument.
