The Beatles navigate a chaotic 36-hour period of fame, travel, and rehearsals as they prepare for a televised variety show.

The story

The four Beatles—John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr—evade a horde of fans while boarding a train for London to film a televised variety show concert. En route, they meet Paul's trouble-making Irish grandfather, John McCartney. Accompanied by their strict manager Norm and his dim-witted assistant Shake, the band arrives at a hotel where they begin to feel confined by their fame. While Norm tasks them with answering fan mail, the group seeks to escape their restrictions, leading to a series of comedic encounters as they navigate the pressures of their skyrocketing popularity.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The four Beatles evade fans while boarding a train to London for a televised variety show. They meet Paul's grandfather, John McCartney, and travel with their manager Norm and assistant Shake. After arriving at a hotel and feeling confined, the band sneaks out to a party but is eventually escorted out by Norm and Shake. The following day, they attend a mundane cocktail reception before heading to a TV studio where the producer suspects them of plotting. After a rehearsal involving a field excursion, the band is separated; George is mistaken for an actor and auditioned for a clothing advertisement, while Ringo is cajoled into chaperoning Paul's grandfather. Ringo ends up in a pub and is later apprehended by a policeman alongside the grandfather, who is causing a ruckus with forged autographs. A Keystone Cops-style foot chase ensues to retrieve him. Finally, the Beatles deliver a smashing performance to screaming fans before being whisked away by helicopter to a midnight matinée in Wolverhampton.
