The story
The film centers on a group of teenagers living on one street who are stalked and murdered in their dreams by a disfigured man named Freddy Krueger. The teenagers discover that they all share a common link from their childhood that makes them targets for Krueger. As the teens realize the danger, they must navigate the blurring lines between their dreams and reality to survive the stalker's pursuit.

Dean Russell is attacked by Freddy Krueger in a dream, leading to his death in reality. His friends, Kris and Nancy, begin experiencing similar nightmares. Nancy and her friend Quentin discover they attended the same preschool where Krueger, the groundskeeper, was accused of molesting children before being burned alive. As the teens suffer from insomnia and hallucinations, they attempt to stop Krueger by confronting him at the preschool. Nancy manages to pull Krueger into the real world and burns him, but he later appears in a mirror to kill her mother.
