Full plot (contains spoilers)
Dr. Sarah Sellner is a resident at an accident and emergency clinic in Mainz. She is tormented by her boyfriend, Dr. Tusk, who has proposed to her but is unfaithful, and by her tyrannical boss, Prof. Kortner. When the Mainz Rose Monday parade leaves many people injured and the hospital is chronically overburdened, an opportunity arises for her to get back at her boss, who has had a cycling accident with Mr. Plöhn, a fictional member of the Mombach Carnival Association. In revenge, Kortner is assigned to a room with the accident victim and an annoying Italian. Dr. Sellner also successfully applies for the position of senior physician. The ending is left open, though the clinic director invites Dr. Sellner for an “extra sausage.”
