The eccentric Addams family mistakenly attends a luxury resort reunion where they encounter a devious family plotting a murder for inheritance.
The story
Discovering that his grandparents have developed "Waltzheimer's disease", a disease that is slowly turning them "normal", Gomez plans a family reunion, hoping that some branch of his enormous family tree will find a cure. However, Gomez sends a card written in blood, which damages the machines of the company organizing the reunion and results in the Addamses receiving the wrong invitation. Gomez, Morticia, Fester, Lurch, and the grandparents drive to a luxury resort for the family reunion. There, they encounter a man who seeks to commit murder in order to inherit a fortune.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Gomez Addams plans a reunion to find a cure for his grandparents' 'Waltzheimer's disease,' but a blood-written invitation leads the family to the wrong luxury resort. While there, they meet Dr. Philip Adams and his sister Katherine, who plan to poison their father, Walter, to inherit his fortune. Meanwhile, Philip's younger brother and his wife are mistakenly sent to the Addams mansion, where they are abused by Granny and Cousin Itt. Pugsley falls for Katherine's daughter, Gina, while Wednesday antagonizes Philip's children. After Gomez defeats Philip in a series of games, an enraged Philip attacks him. A knife fight ensues, ending with Gomez holding Philip at knifepoint as police arrive. The family is arrested or separated: Pugsley and Wednesday are taken by child services, Fester is institutionalized, and Lurch is buried alive. Walter Adams eventually posts bail and helps the family rescue one another. The Addamses torture Philip in his own electric chair before returning home. The film ends with the family witnessing a distant nuclear explosion caused by Pugsley's 'Siberian firecracker,' leading Morticia to lament an approaching nuclear winter.
