The story
Eleven-year-old Alfons Zitterbacke attends secondary school in Halle (Saale), where he dreams of becoming an astronaut on the International Space Station. Accident-prone and unpopular with his classmates, he relies on his best friend Benni and Emilia, a new student, for support. When the school announces a flying-object competition, Alfons sees a chance to move closer to his dream. But his self-built drone project is stolen, and a chemistry experiment gone wrong puts him at risk of expulsion, leaving him discouraged.

Eleven-year-old Alfons Zitterbacke attends a secondary school in Halle (Saale) and dreams of becoming an astronaut on the ISS. He is accident-prone and unpopular with his classmates. Only his best friend Benni and Emilia, a new student, stand by him. When the school announces a flying-object competition, Alfons feels that his dream career is within reach. But when his project idea—a drone he built himself—is stolen, and he faces the threat of being expelled over a chemistry experiment that went wrong at school, he loses heart. Despite all the setbacks, his parents and friends manage to motivate him again, and his participation in the competition is a success.
