Full plot (contains spoilers)

On Halloween, children Tia and Timmy find an unmarked VHS tape in their candy bag. They watch it with their babysitter, Sarah. The first segment, 'The 9th Circle,' shows Casey being kidnapped by Art the Clown, chained with two other women, and eventually being taken over by Satan after witnessing a coven of witches. After Sarah sends the children to bed, the second segment, 'Something in the Dark,' follows Caroline, who is stalked by an alien in her new home; she eventually discovers an image of Art the Clown in a painting. The third segment, 'Terrifier,' follows a costume designer who encounters Art at a gas station before being hunted, captured, and brutally mutilated by him. After the stories end, Sarah hears the costume designer pleading for help on her home phone. Art appears on the TV, then in her room, and finally kills Tia and Timmy, leaving their bodies slashed and 'ART' written in blood on the wall.
