The story
Adam, a lonely television screenwriter living in a London tower block, leads a secluded life until he meets his neighbor, Harry. While the two begin to develop a romantic connection, Adam finds himself revisiting memories of his past. He travels to his childhood home and encounters his parents, who died in a car accident years ago, and appear as they were at the time of their death. As Adam and Harry's relationship grows, Adam must navigate the complexities of his own history and the lingering impact of his parents' loss while trying to move forward in his life.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Adam, a lonely screenwriter in London, meets his neighbor Harry and they begin a romantic relationship. During their time together, Adam visits his childhood home and encounters his parents, who died in a car accident years ago. They appear as they were at the time of their death. Adam spends time with them, eventually coming out to his mother and reconciling with his father over his past. During a drug-induced trip, Adam experiences a surreal journey through his past. Later, Adam takes Harry to his parents' house, where the reality of their existence is challenged. Ultimately, Adam's parents tell him he must let them go to find happiness with Harry. After a period of separation, Adam finds Harry's body in his apartment, realizing Harry died of an overdose on the night Adam first turned him away. In a final, surreal moment, Adam finds a vision of Harry in his apartment and they share a final moment together while listening to 'The Power of Love'.
