The story
In 1973, a teenage fan of rock music and aspiring journalist named William Miller is hired by Rolling Stone magazine to write a cover story on the rising band Stillwater. He joins the band on their tour, where he becomes a fixture in their inner circle. As the tour progresses, William navigates the complexities of the music industry, the dynamics of the band members, and his growing connection to a member of a groupie collective called the Band-Aids. The story captures the atmosphere of the early 1970s rock scene as William tries to balance his professional ambitions with his personal experiences on the road.

The film follows William Miller, a 15-year-old aspiring rock journalist in 1973 who is hired by Rolling Stone to cover the band Stillwater. While on tour, he becomes close with the band members and a girl named Penny Lane. During a flight through severe weather, the band members confront their internal tensions and secrets. After the tour, William's article is initially rejected by Rolling Stone because the lead guitarist, Russell, lies about its contents. However, after a series of events, Russell eventually provides a valid interview, and the article is published as a cover feature. The film concludes with Penny fulfilling her dream of going to Morocco and the band continuing their tour.
