The story
After their home is sold and moved to Los Angeles, three chipmunk brothers—Alvin, Simon, and Theodore—find themselves in the same building as Dave Seville, a struggling songwriter whose career is stalling. After a chaotic initial encounter, Dave strikes a deal with the musical trio: they will perform his songs in exchange for food and shelter. As Dave attempts to navigate his professional struggles and personal life, he must manage the antics of the three talented but mischievous chipmunks who are determined to make a name for themselves in the music industry.

After their home is sold and moved to Los Angeles, three chipmunk brothers—Alvin, Simon, and Theodore—find themselves in the same building as Dave Seville, a struggling songwriter. Dave strikes a deal with the trio to perform his songs in exchange for food and shelter. While Dave tries to manage his career and a relationship with his ex-girlfriend Claire, the Chipmunks' presence causes various complications. Eventually, the Chipmunks perform at a venue owned by Dave's rival, Ian Hawke, and land a record deal. However, Ian begins to exploit them, overworking them on a tour while telling them Dave is uninterested in them. Realizing Ian's deception and the value of their bond with Dave, the Chipmunks cause chaos during a concert. Dave infiltrates the show to rescue them, and they eventually reunite, while Ian's career collapses due to the scandal.
