The story

At the Hotel Mirage, an all-inclusive resort on an unnamed Greek island, a troupe of animateurs — entertainers hired to keep foreign holidaymakers engaged from morning through night — prepares for the high season. Kalia, in her thirties, is the veteran of the group, entering her seventh season leading choreographies, hosting bingo, training new arrivals and performing kitsch dance numbers to a mostly older tourist audience. Eva, a young woman newly arrived from Poland, joins the troupe and forms a tentative bond with Kalia, who mothers over her.
