Ant-Man and the Wasp must navigate the complexities of the Quantum Realm to rescue a missing ally while facing a dangerous new threat.
The story
Two years after Scott Lang was placed under house arrest, Hank Pym and his daughter Hope van Dyne discover a potential way to reach the Quantum Realm. They believe Pym's wife, Janet van Dyne, might be trapped there after a 1987 accident. Upon receiving a mysterious message from her, the trio must work together to build a stable quantum tunnel. However, their mission is complicated by a black-market deal gone wrong and the emergence of a mysterious, unstable woman who seeks the same technology. With time running out on Lang's house arrest, the team must navigate a high-stakes rescue mission to retrieve Janet from the sub-atomic realm.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following a mysterious message from the Quantum Realm, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, and Hope van Dyne attempt to rescue Janet van Dyne. They are intercepted by Sonny Burch, who double-crosses them, and a woman named Ava Starr, whose molecular instability makes her a desperate seeker of Pym's technology. After a series of complications involving a stolen lab and a pursuit through San Francisco, the team manages to reach the Quantum Realm. While Pym and Janet are successfully retrieved, Ava is stabilized by Janet's energy. The film concludes with a mid-credits scene where the trio sends Lang into the Quantum Realm to gather energy, only for them to turn to dust due to the 'Blip' from Avengers: Infinity War.
