The story
Anton invites his family to a farm in the Uckermark to celebrate his 30th birthday. The guests arrive, including his father Bernhard, who left the family 20 years earlier, but Anton himself is nowhere to be found. While they wait, tensions surface among the relatives: Marla criticizes her older brother Tilmann for still living with their mother, and the cheerful Jule clashes with the estate owner, Achim. Anton’s former girlfriend Ewa begins circulating his diaries, stirring up painful memories. With the host absent and old conflicts emerging, the birthday gathering grows increasingly fraught.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Anton invites his family to a farm in the Uckermark for his 30th birthday. Everyone comes, even his father Bernhard, who actually took off 20 years ago. Only one person is missing: Anton. As they wait, the guests fall into conflicts. His sister Marla criticizes her brother Tilmann’s Oedipal crisis: he is over 30 and still lives with their mother. The cheerful Jule clashes with the estate owner, Achim. Ewa, Anton’s ex-girlfriend, circulates the missing host’s diaries, reopening old wounds. In no time, the family gathering turns into a battlefield that no one will leave unscathed.
