The story
An insolvent Alpine village joins forces to search for a treasure rumored to have been buried by Napoleon.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The Alpine village of Vöglbrunn is effectively bankrupt: in recent years, its residents have clearly lived far beyond their means and failed to build up much wealth. Instead, they have lived up to the village’s name and, just like in a sex film of that title, have been hopping from bed to bed ever since. To replenish the municipal coffers, which are now empty, the crafty mayor of Vöglbrunn, Gamsmüller, promptly applied for a million-mark loan in Bonn. But when it was rejected, they were at a loss as to what to do. Then a few resourceful residents remembered a rumor that had once circulated: Napoleon had supposedly buried a legendary treasure nearby while passing through, more than a century and a half ago. Before long, the people of Vöglbrunn were no longer just getting together horizontally; they were also joining forces to search for the hoped-for overnight riches …
