The story
Following the death of a beloved captain, Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett find themselves entangled in a dangerous conspiracy. After the late Captain Conrad Howard is accused of being linked to a cartel, the pair must navigate a web of corruption within law enforcement. With the help of allies, they attempt to uncover the truth behind his actions. However, as they dig deeper, they find themselves hunted by both law enforcement and criminal elements, forcing them to go on the run to protect their secrets and clear their fallen comrade's name.

Four years after the death of Isabel Aretas, Detective Mike Lowrey marries Christine. During the reception, his partner Marcus Burnett suffers a heart attack and experiences a vision from the late Captain Conrad Howard, leading him to believe he cannot die. When Howard is accused of conspiracy and linked to a cartel, Mike and Marcus team up with Rita Secada and Adam Lockwood to prove his innocence. They seek help from Armando Aretas, who reveals Howard was killed to keep secrets. After a failed attempt to retrieve data from a hacker named Fletcher leads to his death, and a helicopter transport for Armando crashes, the trio are branded as fugitives. They are hunted by law enforcement and criminals while trying to uncover the truth. They eventually identify the villain, James McGrath, a former Army Ranger. After a series of battles, including a confrontation at an alligator-themed amusement park, they rescue Christine and others. In a final standoff, Mike must choose who to save; he shoots Marcus in his bulletproof vest, allowing both to escape and defeat McGrath. Ultimately, Howard is cleared of all charges, and the corruption is exposed.
