A portrait of Bogotá’s courts, where petty offenses can bring years in prison.
The story
In Bogotá, most cases brought before the courts are classified as minor offenses. Selling pirated discs, stealing a cell phone, or even sleeping on the street can lead to prison sentences of several years. Against this backdrop, Bagatela portrays the everyday workings of justice and petty crime in a city accustomed to violence and inequality.
