Two rivalistic men must navigate a chaotic journey through Brazil after their failed product pitch leads to an international incident during the World Cup.
The story
Product inventor Elijah DeBell and salesman Brad Lewison, who harbor a mutual dislike for one another, are tasked with pitching a newly developed condom, 'The Testicle Sentinel', to Brazil's Travel Ministry to become the official sponsor of the World Cup. After a disastrous presentation leads to their product being passed over, the pair find themselves unexpectedly invited to attend the World Cup finale in Brazil. Reluctantly reuniting, they travel to the country where a series of mishaps during the match leads to them being detained by authorities in a nation that takes the game extremely seriously.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After their product 'The Testicle Sentinel' is rejected by the Brazilian Travel Ministry, Elijah DeBell and Brad Lewison are invited to the World Cup finale in Brazil. During the match, Elijah's outburst leads to him blocking a goal, resulting in both men being detained. They are eventually rescued by a drug cartel led by Pavio Curto Bundchen, who believes their 'Balls Up' product can help smuggle more drugs. Following a cartel raid and a crash in the jungle, the pair survives by eating a caiman and fleeing on a boat. They are later intercepted by a military gunboat and left at Iguazu Falls. There, they are rescued by Antonia (Isadora), a spy for the Argentinian government. The duo eventually reconciles, becomes friends, and successfully pitches 'Balls Up' once again.
