Batman must stop the Riddler and Two-Face from uncovering his identity while navigating a new romance and a young ward.
The story
In Gotham City, Batman faces a dual threat from the eccentric Riddler and the unstable Two-Face, both of whom seek to expose his secret identity. While battling these villains, Bruce Wayne must navigate his growing feelings for psychologist Dr. Chase Meridian. Simultaneously, he takes in a young orphan, Dick Grayson, who becomes his ward. As the Riddler uses a mind-altering device to gain information and Two-Face seeks vengeance for his past, Batman must protect the city and his new allies from their escalating schemes.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After the criminal Two-Face escapes a hostage situation, he seeks to force Batman to reveal his identity. Meanwhile, Edward Nygma, a disgruntled employee at Wayne Enterprises, creates a device called 'the Box' to steal information from minds. Nygma becomes the Riddler and teams up with Two-Face. During a circus event, Two-Face attacks, and the young Dick Grayson is left as the sole survivor of his family. Bruce Wayne takes Dick in as his ward. Batman eventually reveals his identity to Dr. Chase Meridian, who has fallen in love with him. On Halloween, the Riddler and Two-Face destroy the Batcave and abduct Chase. Batman and his butler, Alfred, deduce the Riddler's identity. Batman eventually accepts Dick as his partner, Robin. In a final confrontation at the Riddler's lair, the Riddler presents a dilemma where he can only save one of the two people trapped in tubes. Batman uses a riddle to distract him and destroys his equipment, allowing him to save both. Two-Face is defeated after a coin-toss trick, and the Riddler is committed to Arkham Asylum, delusional that he is Batman.
