A woman's journey into a cursed castle leads to a transformative bond with a monstrous prince.
The story
A selfish and unkind prince is transformed into a beast by an enchantress after he refuses to offer her shelter. He is cursed to remain a beast forever unless he can learn to love someone and have that person love him back before a magical rose loses its last petal. Years later, a bookish woman named Belle finds herself in the castle after her father, Maurice, becomes lost in the woods. To save him from the Beast's imprisonment, Belle takes his place as a prisoner. Within the castle's walls, she encounters a cast of enchanted household objects and begins to navigate the complexities of the Beast's world.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
A prince is cursed into a beast by an enchantress who gives him a rose; he must find love before the last petal falls. Years later, Belle enters the castle to save her father, Maurice, who was captured while seeking refuge. She becomes his prisoner in exchange for his freedom. As they bond, she meets enchanted servants like Lumière and Cogsworth. Meanwhile, the arrogant Gaston plots to kidnap Belle. After a series of events, including a journey to a shared past in Paris, Belle and the Beast fall in love. When Gaston leads a mob to destroy the castle, the Beast faces him. Gaston falls to his death, and the Beast is mortally wounded. As the last petal falls, the enchantress Agathe reveals herself and breaks the curse, restoring the prince and the servants to their human forms as Belle professes her love.
