Full plot (contains spoilers)
The film traces the stages of Ludwig van Beethoven’s life: from his childhood in Bonn, where the elderly Joseph Haydn overhears him playing the organ, through his greatest triumphs as a composer and on to the final, most dramatic period of his life, when deafness robbed him of all his creativity. Beethoven’s private life is not left out either, including his disappointing love affair with one of his pupils, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi.
