A dead visitor leads amateur detectives Diana and Regina to an island where everyone seems to be seeking a mysterious formula.

The story

On a stormy night, Diana and Regina, the detective duo known as the “Red Lips,” receive an unwelcome visitor who collapses in their home. The dead man is holding the score of a folk song composed by Professor Bertrand, last known to be living on the island of Lo Pagan. The amateur sleuths travel there, where they encounter strange characters apparently seeking a mysterious formula. Bertrand is said to be dead or in hiding since being accused of murder, and each clue the women pursue raises further questions.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The lesbian detective duo Diana and Regina, known as the “Red Lips,” receive an unexpected and unwelcome visitor on a stormy night: a badly wounded man, a throwing knife in his back, staggers into their home and collapses on the floor. In one hand, the dead man is holding the score of a folk song once composed by a certain Professor Bertrand. Bertrand was last living on the sunny island of Lo Pagan, so the two amateur sleuths—who earn their living professionally with revealing variety-show performances—set off there at once. They encounter all sorts of strange characters, who are apparently all after a mysterious formula. Everyone here knows Professor Bertrand, who is said to be either dead or in hiding since being accused of murder. A mysterious cult made up of feminists and lesbians, shadowy scientists, mysterious double agents, and a rather unscrupulous businessman also cross Diana and Regina’s path. Every clue the two pursue raises new questions, and practically every one of their informants ends up much like the man with the knife in his back at the beginning of the film. At last, Diana and Regina track down the supposedly dead researcher Bertrand, who plans to use the very super-formula everyone has been seeking—which was hidden in the notes of his folk song—to breed an invincible super-race. Diana and Regina use their own particular weapons to put a stop to the madman’s dangerous activities.
