The story

In the futuristic city of San Fransokyo, Hiro Hamada, a 14-year-old robotics prodigy, lives a life of high-stakes competition. After a tragic accident involving his older brother Tadashi and a high-tech laboratory, Hiro is left with a specialized healthcare robot named Baymax. When Hiro discovers that a mysterious villain known as 'Yokai' is using his brother's microbots for nefarious purposes, he must team up with Tadashi's friends. Together, they must adapt their technology and form a superhero team to stop the villain's growing threat and uncover the truth behind the explosion that claimed Tadashi's life.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In the futuristic city of San Fransokyo, 14-year-old Hiro Hamada is a robotics prodigy who joins forces with Baymax, an inflatable healthcare robot created by his late brother Tadashi. After a fire caused by a villain named Yokai leads to Tadashi's death, Hiro and Baymax discover that Yokai is using Hiro's microbots for mass production. Hiro teams up with Tadashi's friends—Go Go, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, and Fred—to combat the threat. They eventually discover that Yokai is actually Professor Robert Callaghan, who faked his death. During a confrontation at a remote laboratory, Hiro briefly loses control and tries to have Baymax kill Callaghan. After the group restores Baymax's personality, they track Callaghan to a teleportation site where he attempts to destroy a rival's headquarters. The heroes defeat him and rescue his daughter, Abigail, from a portal. In the aftermath, Hiro and Baymax continue to protect San Fransokyo in Tadashi's memory.
