A father and daughter navigate a world where looking at mysterious entities causes people to take their own lives.
The story
In a world plagued by mysterious entities that cause people to commit suicide upon seeing them, Sebastián and his daughter Anna travel through Barcelona. To survive, people must wear blindfolds outdoors. Sebastián encounters a group of survivors and joins them in a bus hangar shelter. However, his true motives are clouded by his status as a 'seer'—someone unaffected by the entities. As they navigate the dangers of the wasteland, they seek a way to survive the entities that have decimated the global population.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The world is plagued by entities that cause people to commit suicide upon seeing them. In Barcelona, Sebastián and his daughter Anna travel together. Sebastián joins a group of survivors in a bus hangar, but secretly leads them to their deaths by removing their blindfolds, as he is a 'seer' who sees the apparition of his deceased wife, Anna, who tells him he must 'save' enough people to join her. Nine months earlier, Sebastián lost his wife in an accident and was captured by a pastor who believed the entities were angels; the pastor killed Anna, and Sebastián was left with the apparition. Sebastián later meets another group including Rafa, Octavio, Roberto, Isabel, Claire, and Sofia. They aim to reach Montjuïc Castle, a rumored safe refuge. Along the way, Sebastián sabotages Rafa and leads Octavio to his death. Claire suspects Sebastián is a seer and protects Sofia. Eventually, Sebastián helps Claire and Sofia reach the gondola lift to the castle while fighting the pastor, resulting in both of their deaths. Claire and Sofia reach the castle, which is a military-run camp where Sofia is reunited with her mother and Claire undergoes testing for an antibody.
