The story
In 1982, four years after the death of the Grabber, siblings Finney and Gwen experience unsettling visions of past murders at Alpine Lake Camp. When Gwen begins having prophetic dreams of the 1957 massacre, she convinces Finney and their friend Ernesto to travel to the remote location. A sudden, heavy blizzard traps the group at the camp, where they are joined by the owner and several employees. As they attempt to uncover the truth behind the visions, they find themselves isolated and haunted by the ghostly presence of the Grabber, who claims to have escaped from Hell and seeks revenge on those who defeated him.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 1982, siblings Finney and Gwen, along with their friend Ernesto, travel to Alpine Lake Camp after Gwen begins dreaming of murders that occurred there in 1957. A blizzard traps them with the camp owner Armando, his niece Mustang, and employees Kenneth and Barbara. On the second night, the Grabber calls Finney from a dead payphone, claiming to have escaped from Hell and seeking revenge. During a dream attack on Gwen, the group realizes they must find the bodies of the Grabber's victims to break his power. They discover that Armando, the Grabber, and Gwen's mother, Hope, were all connected to the camp. As the Grabber attempts to kill the group, Gwen's father, Terrence, arrives. The group eventually finds the bodies of three missing boys beneath the ice of Lake Maru. During a final confrontation, Gwen finds the bodies, stripping the Grabber of his power. The Grabber is dragged into the frozen lake, and Gwen receives a final, reassuring call from her mother.
