After being framed for murder by a vampire leader, Blade must join a team of hunters to stop the resurrection of the original vampire, Dracula.

The story

Vampire leader Danica Talos frames Blade for several murders, leading to his arrest by the FBI after the death of his mentor, Abraham Whistler. Following his release, Blade is recruited by Hannibal King and Abigail Whistler to join the Nightstalkers, a group of vampire hunters. The team learns that a group of vampires has resurrected the original vampire, Drake, who possesses the ability to survive in sunlight. To combat this threat, the Nightstalkers have developed a viral bioweapon called Daystar. Blade must now navigate a dangerous alliance to stop the vampires from using Drake's power to eliminate their own weaknesses and dominate humanity.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After being framed for murder and losing his mentor, Blade is rescued by the Nightstalkers, a group of vampire hunters. They reveal that a vampire faction has resurrected the original vampire, Drake, who can survive in sunlight. The Nightstalkers have created a viral bioweapon, Daystar, which requires Drake's blood to become effective enough to wipe out the vampire species. During the conflict, Blade and Abigail Whistler infiltrate a 'blood farm' and eventually confront Drake. In a final battle, Blade and Drake engage in combat. After a series of skirmishes, Blade stabs Drake with a Daystar arrow, triggering the chemical reaction that releases the virus, killing the other vampires. As Drake dies, he acknowledges Blade as the future of the vampire race and shape-shifts into him to allow his escape. In the unrated version, the film ends with Blade emerging from a coma after the virus failed to kill him because of his human heart.
