After a disastrous blind date, Lauren Reynolds and Jim Friedman both end up at an African safari resort with their children. They are forced to share a suite and a 'blended familymoon' experience. As the children bond—Jim helps the boys with baseball and boxing while Lauren helps the girls with their appearances—the parents also begin to grow closer. During the trip, Lauren discovers Jim's connection to her past, and they share a moment of connection. After returning to America, Jim realizes he is in love with Lauren. He eventually confronts her while her ex-husband, Mark, attempts to reconcile with her. Mark is rejected by Lauren, and the film concludes with Jim and Lauren finally admitting their feelings and becoming a family together.
