The story

A young man steals money for a frivolous dancer.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The literary source was Paul Langenscheidt’s novel *Blondes Gift*. Although the film had at least one screening in September 1919 at the Theater am Moritzplatz in Berlin, it is impossible to give a plot description because the film was banned shortly afterward. What is known is that it told the story of a prostitute (here most likely in the sense of a femme fatale) named Loni, who first drives her husband to ruin and then shows no remorse at the deaths of both her lovers, as—in the final scene—she throws herself into the arms of the next man at hand, in this case a police lieutenant. The German Early Cinema Database gives only the terse plot description: “Young man steals money for frivolous dancer.”
