The story

The film tells three stories, two of which are loose adaptations from the titular horror fiction anthology: "The Book of Blood" ("Miles") and "On Jerusalem Street" (a postscript) ("Bennett"). The first story follows Jenna Branson, a college student with a noise sensitivity disorder who runs away from home and seeks refuge at a bed and breakfast. She begins to suspect she is being followed and feels a strange connection with her host, Ellie. Meanwhile, Mary Floresky seeks to speak with her deceased son through a psychic, and Bennett is hired to collect a debt that leads him toward a legendary, cursed tome.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The film presents three stories. Jenna Branson, a college student with a noise sensitivity disorder, runs away and stays at a B&B run by Ellie and Sam Austin. She discovers they have been paralyzing guests, removing their tongues, eyes, and ears, and hiding them in the walls to provide them a 'better life.' Jenna is saved by a stalker but is eventually trapped in a car and driven over a cliff by the couple. In the second story, Mary Floresky meets psychic Simon McNeal, who claims to speak to her dead son Miles. They become a couple, but Mary later discovers Simon faked the experiment. Simon is then tormented by ghosts carving stories into his flesh. In the third story, Bennett is hired to collect a debt and learns of the 'Book of Blood' in an abandoned town. He travels there with Steve, where they experience supernatural phenomena. Steve commits suicide, and Bennett finds Mary, Simon, and the ghost of Miles. He is tormented by visions and stabs himself. Finally, it is revealed that all three stories are written on Simon's back, read by Mary. Jenna survives the crash but returns to the couple to be mutilated, finding happiness in her inability to hear noise.
