Boy 7 (2015)

Sam wakes up on the metro, but no longer knows who he is or what he is doing there. When the police come to ask for his identity, he flees the metro. Once outside the station, he meets Lara, whom he had also seen on the metro. Together, they flee to an empty house. Later, when he goes to eat at a restaurant, the waitress hands him a notebook. Back at the house, he starts reading it. It begins by explaining that his name is Sam and that he especially must not trust the police. Gradually, he learns more about his past. When he is caught hacking a government server, he is offered placement in a juvenile rehabilitation center as an alternative punishment. His mother agrees, and Sam is placed in the center. Everyone there has their name taken away and is given the name Boy followed by a number if they are a boy, or Girl followed by a number if they are a girl. Sam is named Boy 7. Anyone who behaves properly and shows that they can keep up with all the lessons is promoted to master. When the first person in the group (Boy 2) is promoted, he starts acting strangely. During a self-defense lesson, he lets himself be beaten up without so much as flinching. When Sam approaches him later, he has no time for Sam. He ignores him and walks on. Together with Louis and Lara, Sam comes up with an escape plan. He copies the Zero’s fingerprint, allowing him to escape his room at night and snoop around the rehabilitation center. There, he manages to break into the center’s computers and discovers the horrific truth behind it. The masters react so stoically and let everything happen to them because they have been implanted with RFID chips, which the center’s management can use to control them. Sam saves the evidence on a USB stick and puts it in his pocket. Just before returning to his room, he quickly swaps his own chip, which is ready to be implanted, for a blank one. Louis gives Sam a notebook, which Sam uses to write down his story at the rehabilitation center. Sam realizes that the only way to escape is to let himself be chipped too. Sam has the chip implanted, and after a mission in which the Minister of Security is murdered, he manages to escape. He is chased by the Zero and several guards from the center. As he flees, he hands the notebook to a passing waitress and runs to the metro station. Just before boarding the metro, he throws the USB stick onto the tracks and gets on. The Zero, Lara, and the guards also board the metro. By now, Sam, who is reading the story, has removed the chip from his neck and goes with Lara to look for the USB stick. When he finds it, Lara suddenly points a gun at him, and a scuffle breaks out between Lara, Sam, and the Zero. Sam fails to escape and is taken back to the rehabilitation center. When the Zero tries to read the stick there, thousands of messages suddenly appear saying that emails have not been delivered. Sam then explains that he sent an email to all the customers of the country’s largest internet providers. When they try to chip Sam again, a scuffle breaks out, during which he manages to persuade Lara to turn against the Zero and the center. Once the Zero has been taken out, Sam destroys the computers that control the chips. All the chipped boys and girls now regain their memories. Meanwhile, the police arrive at the rehabilitation center and arrest the director and the Zero.
