Boys (2021)

The film tells the story of the very different private lives of Joe, Carlo, Bobo, and Giacomo, four friends who formed the band The Boys in the 1970s. The only thing holding their decades-long friendship together is their shared passion for music, which they continue to pursue in honor of a promise they made to their late friend Luca. Overwhelmed by despair, Luca, Giacomo’s older brother, had taken his own life, but had asked his friends not to break up the band. His brother keeps the project going, still writing music and lyrics for the others to perform with him, by now without great commercial ambitions. Another opportunity seems to arise when the trapper JD suggests using one of their old hits for a cover, but the four are wary.
