Full plot (contains spoilers)
Bridget Jones, now the mother of school-aged Billy and Mabel, prepares to go out for the first time in a long time. While Daniel Cleaver babysits her children, Bridget attends the celebration of life held for her late husband, Mark Darcy, who was killed four years earlier. She eventually decides to re-enter the dating world, meeting 29-year-old park ranger Roxster on Tinder. Their relationship evolves over the summer until Roxster suddenly ghosts her. Meanwhile, Bridget's friend Daniel, who is hospitalized, encourages her to help him reconnect with his son. Roxster later reappears to apologize and commit to her, but she turns him down. Simultaneously, Bridget forms a bond with her son's science teacher, Scott Walliker. After a series of events, including a school trip and a winter pageant where Billy pays tribute to his father, Bridget and Scott acknowledge their mutual attraction. One year later, during a New Year's Eve party, Bridget and Scott share a kiss as they watch an owl fly away.
