Full plot (contains spoilers)
Britney Allen, a wealthy cheerleader from Pacific Vista, moves to the working-class Crenshaw Heights after her father loses his job. She joins the local cheer squad, the Warriors, and begins training for a competition. She eventually discovers that her former squad, the Pirates, is also competing. During the competition, hosted by Rihanna, tensions rise as Britney's former friends and teammates appear. After a series of conflicts involving her former boyfriend Brad and his new girlfriend Winnie—who makes several racially insensitive remarks—Britney reconciles with her new teammates. At the competition, the Warriors incorporate 'krumping' into their routine. The competition ends with the Warriors being declared the winners, and Britney officially introduces both squads to each other. The film concludes with the cast appearing in a music video for Rihanna's 'Pon de Replay'.
