A shy young astronomer and a prostitute with an unusual clientele meet and begin a relationship.

The story

Lisette is a prostitute whose clients are members of a privileged circle with elaborate sexual fantasies, which she acts out in specially arranged settings. Filippo Maria, a shy and inexperienced young astronomer, is clumsy and often causes mishaps that sometimes bring him to the police station. His connection to a member of parliament, who is his cousin, earns him a degree of leniency. When Filippo and Lisette meet, they begin dating, setting up a relationship between two people with very different lives.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Lisette is a prostitute who caters to the desires of a privileged little group of sex maniacs, each of whom gets his own sexual fantasies acted out. These include the train ticket inspector who searches for the ticket between Lisette’s thighs while she plays a nun, and the serviceman who has to track down Lisette playing a female soldier in special sets built in the apartment she shares with a friend. Filippo Maria is a shy, awkward, inexperienced young astronomer. His clumsiness often leads him to cause disasters, some of which land him at the police station, where being the cousin of a member of parliament allows him to be treated with a certain leniency. Filippo and Lisette meet and start going out, until they finally marry.
