When climate disruption brings city life to a halt, a Parisian trader and his family seek refuge on a farm where they must coexist with the farmers who work it.
The story
Stanislas, a Parisian trader accustomed to living without concern for climate disruption, is suddenly confronted with its consequences when crisis brings daily life to a halt: there is no water, electricity, or network. Forced to leave the city, he flees with his wife and son to a farm he recently acquired for speculative reasons and as part of a greenwashing effort. There he meets Patrick and Patrick’s family, the farmers who work the land and have no intention of making things easy for the newcomers. With familiar landmarks overturned, the two families must find a way to understand one another as they face the crisis together.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Stanislas, a Parisian trader who has lived without worrying about the consequences of climate disruption, suddenly finds himself confronted with them. Crisis hits and everything grinds to a halt: no more water, no electricity, no network. Despite his city upbringing, he is forced to flee with his wife and son to take refuge on a farm he recently acquired for speculative purposes and as part of a greenwashing effort. When he arrives, he comes face to face with Patrick and his family, the farmers who work the land, who have no intention of making things easy for them. In this chaotic atmosphere, where all the familiar landmarks have been upended, these two families, who have nothing in common, will have to learn to understand one another in order to survive and perhaps rebuild a new world together.
