A commitment-averse writer scrambles to preserve his independence when his girlfriend wants them to move in together.
The story
Alex, a writer, has been with Lætitia for a year, but they still live separately. Lætitia wants them to move in together; Alex, who sees coupledom as the beginning of the end and has often been left by former partners, resists giving up his independence. He enlists the help of Jacques, his publisher and best friend, a Paris enthusiast who has been waiting over a year for Alex’s second book, and Jacques’s son Eugène. The story’s initial conflict centers on Alex’s efforts to avoid cohabitation while navigating his relationship and the expectations of those around him.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Alex, a writer, has been with Lætitia for a year. They each live in their own place, but Lætitia would like them to move in together. Alex, who has been dumped more often than the skydiving record-holder, and for whom life as a couple is the beginning of the end, will do everything he can to hold on to his independence. He can count on Jacques, his publisher and best friend, who is addicted to Paris and has been waiting for Alex’s second book for more than a year, as well as Eugène, Jacques’s son, to help him.
