The story
Gabriel Pelletier, a sales director, is asked by his boss to welcome Mr. Stumberger, an American businessman, into his family. A major business deal is being negotiated, making the visit important to Gabriel’s employer. There is a complication: Stumberger is a puritan, while the Pelletier family is anything but conventional. The setup places Gabriel between his boss’s commercial expectations and the prospect of introducing a conservative guest to his unconventional household.
