Sydney, an executive for The Roth Group (TRG), travels to Paris to acquire the Champagne Château from Hugo Cassell. During her trip, she meets Henri, a man who claims to work in a bookstore but is actually a local guide. They share a romantic connection and spend a night together. The next morning, Sydney is shocked to find that Henri is Hugo Cassell's son. During the acquisition negotiations, she faces off against competitors and learns that her own company, TRG, plans to sell the château to a Japanese firm for a massive profit. After a tense confrontation with her colleague Ryan and a realization about Henri's feelings, Sydney quits TRG and warns Hugo of the company's true motives.
