The story begins when Elena Houghlin, an engineer and programmer, seeks to expose her superiors for covering up a fatal flaw in a new energy conservation device called Calisto. The trio must then navigate a web of corporate secrets and potential betrayals to secure the technology before it can be weaponized or exploited by those seeking to control it.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After a failed meeting in Hamburg where the assassin Hodak kills operative Edgar 'Bosley', Elena Houghlin is rescued by Jane Kano and Sabina Wilson. While the team works to secure the Calisto prototypes, they discover that the agency's internal dynamics are fractured. Rebekah 'Bosley' suspects Sabina is being manipulated, while John Bosley—who has retired—is revealed to be a traitor who has been building a secret network within the agency for decades. The plot culminates in Chamonix, where John attempts to weaponize the Calisto device. The Angels successfully intervene, rescue Elena and her colleague Langston, and stop the mastermind, Alexander Brok. In the aftermath, Elena is officially recruited as an Angel, and the new leadership of the agency is established.
