Conan agrees to escort a princess to restore a jeweled horn in exchange for the resurrection of his lost love.

The story

Conan and his companion, the thief Malak, are approached by Queen Taramis of Shadizar, who offers Conan a quest: escort her niece, Princess Jehnna, to restore the jeweled horn of the dreaming god Dagoth. In exchange, Taramis promises to resurrect Conan's lost love, Valeria. To locate the horn, they must first retrieve the magic gem Heart of Ahriman. The group is joined by Bombaata, the captain of Taramis's guard, who secretly intends to kill Conan. The adventurers also seek the help of Akiro, the Wizard of the Mounds, and eventually recruit a powerful bandit warrior named Zula.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Conan and Malak are tasked by Queen Taramis to escort Princess Jehnna to restore the jeweled horn of Dagoth, with the promise of resurrecting Conan's love, Valeria. They are joined by Bombaata, who secretly plans to kill Conan, and later by the rescued Wizard Akiro and the bandit warrior Zula. After securing the Heart of Ahriman, they travel to the castle of Thoth-Amon. The wizard kidnaps Jehnna, but Conan defeats him by breaking a hall of mirrors. The group then travels to an ancient temple where Jehnna obtains the horn. Bombaata betrays them, seizing Jehnna, but Conan and his allies escape. They reach Shadizar, where Conan kills Bombaata and Zula stops the Grand Vizier from sacrificing Jehnna. Dagoth awakens as a behemoth, killing Taramis. Conan rips the horn from Dagoth's brow and kills the monster. Jehnna offers Conan the throne of Shadizar, but he declines, choosing to seek his own kingdom.
