A broken-down stagecoach leaves a sergeant, his daughter, and a group of convicted murderers to continue on foot with a hidden gold shipment.

The story

A group of convicted murderers is being transported under the watchful eye of a sergeant and his daughter. The journey has a concealed purpose: gold is hidden among the prisoners’ chains. When their stagecoach breaks down, the group must continue on foot. The already dangerous transport grows more fraught because one of the inmates is the man who murdered the sergeant’s wife, placing the officer and his daughter in close proximity to the killer as they press on.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

A group of convicted murderers is being transported under the watchful eye of a sergeant and his daughter, but this is really just a pretext for transporting gold, which is concealed among the prisoners’ chains. When the stagecoach breaks down, they will have to continue on foot—and, to make matters worse, one of the inmates is the man who murdered the sergeant’s wife.
