Two aliens stranded on Earth must navigate the complexities of human life and identity while trying to blend in with their neighbors.

The story

After a mysterious UFO crashes near Manhattan, two aliens from the planet Remulak, Beldar and Prymaat, are stranded on Earth. To survive and blend in, they adopt the name 'Conehead' and settle in the suburbs of New Jersey, where Beldar works as an appliance repairman. As they attempt to integrate into human society, they are pursued by a persistent INS agent who is determined to uncover their true identity. The story follows the couple and their daughter, Connie, as they navigate the challenges of being outsiders in a world that is entirely different from their own.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Following a crash in the Atlantic, Beldar and Prymaat, two aliens from Remulak, are stranded on Earth. Beldar takes a job as an appliance repairman and receives a fake identity from local gangsters to hide his status from the INS. While the couple settles into suburban life and eventually has a daughter, Connie, they are pursued by INS agents Gorman Seedling and Eli Turnbull. Years later, as Connie becomes a teenager, the INS tracks them down. During a tense standoff, a rescue ship arrives. Connie chooses to stay on Earth with her boyfriend, while the parents are taken aboard. On Remulak, Beldar is initially hailed as a hero but is sentenced to fight a beast, the Garthok, after his 'treason' of capping his teeth is discovered. He defeats the beast using his golfing skills and negotiates to return to Earth with his family. He eventually chooses to stay on Earth to prioritize Connie's happiness, faking an attack to convince his people to leave him alone. The film ends with the Coneheads living happily on Earth while Connie attends her prom.
