Conni & Co. (2016)

Twelve-year-old Conni has to change schools and has trouble fitting in with her new class. A clique of girls bullies her, while her friend Paul, who is also new to the class, turns his back on her and joins a group of dominant boys. Around the same time, a lively, clever Jack Russell Terrier finds its way to her. It turns out that the dog belongs to Mr. Möller, the unpopular school principal, who treats it without affection. The dog has just won an audition to be a commercial dog for dog food, but by illegal means. Mr. Möller had drugged it to keep it calm, so that it seemed perfectly suited to get through the upcoming shoot in a lethargic state. The principal now dreams that the fee he hopes to earn will allow him to quit his teaching job, which he hates. He desperately searches for the dog. Conni cannot keep it because her little brother is allergic to dog hair. She hides it at her grandmother's animal sanctuary. The sanctuary is deeply in debt and faces foreclosure. With the help of her friends, Conni eventually manages to save both the dog and the sanctuary.
