A cynical exorcist must navigate a dangerous conspiracy involving a demonic entity and a powerful artifact in Los Angeles.
The story
In Los Angeles, a cynical exorcist named John Constantine possesses the unique ability to see and interact with supernatural beings. When a mysterious artifact—the tip of a spear that pierced Jesus Christ—is discovered and brought to the city, it triggers a series of supernatural events. Constantine becomes entangled in a high-stakes conflict involving a desperate LAPD detective, Angela Dodson, who is investigating the suspicious death of her twin sister. As the boundary between Heaven and Hell thins, Constantine must navigate a web of demonic forces and divine intervention to prevent a catastrophic breach of the treaty between the two realms while battling his own terminal illness.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After a scavenger brings the spear tip to Los Angeles, John Constantine intervenes to stop a demon from reaching Earth. He meets Angela Dodson, a detective whose twin sister, Isabel, died under mysterious circumstances. Constantine reveals that Isabel was a psychic who sacrificed herself to stop the antichrist, Mammon, from taking over Earth. However, a powerful entity known as Gabriel, an archangel who resents God's mercy, seeks to use the spear to unleash Mammon. During a confrontation at a psychiatric hospital, Gabriel attempts to use Angela as a vessel for Mammon. Constantine is forced to make a desperate deal with Lucifer to stop the plan. In the climax, Constantine sacrifices his safety to banish Mammon and neutralize Gabriel's threat. The film ends with Constantine being restored to life by Lucifer, though he remains a marked man, while Angela is left to guard the spear tip.
