The story
Sibylle, a divorced mother, is distressed by the direction her son Samuel’s life is taking: he is sinking into what she sees as a violent and meaningless existence. Determined to intervene, she takes him on a long journey across Kyrgyzstan. Their only companions are two horses, and the journey carries them through a natural environment described as both magnificent and hostile. Along the way, they must contend with its dangers and the people they encounter, while facing the tensions and challenges between themselves.

Sibylle is a divorced mother who can no longer bear to watch her son Samuel sink into a violent, meaningless life. She decides to take action by taking him on a long journey across Kyrgyzstan. With two horses as their only companions, mother and son will face a natural environment that is as magnificent as it is hostile, along with its dangers, its people, and above all, themselves.
